Capos, Chords and Theory VHS |
At last! A banjo video that explains capos, chords, and theory in words that a beginner can understand. It begins by naming all the notes on the G string one fret at at time.
Then the three basic four-finger chord positions on the banjo--barre, F position, and D position are taught. Those chords are moved up the neck, one fret at a time, naming each chord as you go.
The I, IV, and V chords are discussed and how to find them. Then the capo is put on at different frets, explain what key you are playing in, and how to find the vamp chords.
Murphy shows an example of playing in different keys by using the capo to play Boil Them Cabbage Down in G, A, B-flat, B, and C.
The focus of this video is on vamping and using the capo. If you've ever had a question about vamping and capos, this video is for you! No Tab.. (1 hour 20 minutes)
