A new sound for bass players. The BB-400 has an uncanny resemblance to the tone of an upright acoustic bass with Gold Tone's special sliding mag pickup. It has extremely quick hammers, pull-offs, and slides. It's especially suited to play slap bass techniques.

The BB-400 is available with frets or as a fretless model. Bass players are amazed at this new tone for the "LOW END."

A slim maple neck and a 13" maple body makes the Banjo Bass a comfortable instrument to play.

Features include sliding mag pickup, a Remo PTS pre-tuned head, radiused fingerboard, stainless-steel tailpiece, thumb guide, bone nut, and high-quality tuning machines.

Customer Testimonial:

Angie, I just got the bass banjo from you.  I must admit I was a little worried.  The mp3s that I heard were mostly hammer on's and other techniques that sounded tinnie and rattled my nerves.  I  was chatting with my: guitar, Uke, banjo friends and they gave me some trouble about purchasing an instrument that I had never seen or played let alone something they had never heard of.  I was having some buyers remorse as I waited for it to come.

This thing is a hoot.  It has a huge tone range from supper mellow like a stand up bass to as brass as a normal banjo.  It can blast you out of the room with a bigger amp and allowing the amp to re verb against the  head of the bass but it is a controlled re verb nothing like the problems I had with a country acoustic base.  That thing would scream at the slightest opportunity.  I have been down the neck and doing  a lot of melodies, just never seemed to get there much on my Beatles bass.

I do a lot of playing with an old shakeys pizza parlor banjo player who is as much of a hoot as I am. I can not wait to play this thing with him. We do a lot of music in prisons and I think it will generate some interesting conversations.  Besides it has a lot of potential with mine is bigger than his jokes. Thank you for the first class service and product.

Thank Gold Tone for a first class unique instrument. Not exactly like the old acoustic bass banjos of the pre amp time but a wonderful mixture of the very old and the new. I think it is a little louder acoustically than the Epiphone  El capitan With brass boomer strings. country bass un amped.

Thanks looking forward to many happy years playing this thing. Steve G.
